MUZE COLLECTIVE presents “SET ME FREE” Concert Series on Jan. 17th 2016, held at the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center Theater, lead by Thelonious Love to promote and embody the spirit of San Antonio’s DreamWeek by joining music bands together to promote Peace, Justice, Love and Unity.
DreamWeek's mission is to continue to advance and modernize the teachings set forth by Dr Martin Luther King's vision by creating dialogue across #cultures and #communities.
Thelonious Love: Houston-born, Austin-based rapper on Jurnt Entertainment. #TheoLove follows his first mixtape, #NoOtherLoveAlive, with a new single, an admonishment to aspire to our higher selves. “#GottaFindAWay” utilizes poignant samples from #MLK’s “Dream” speech to seamlessly craft a positive narrative in a time when positivity is in short supply.
“We need to educate ourselves. Love one another. I choose music and arts as my way of sharing that with the world.” Theo Love
Kate Priestly: KP began her musical journey in India, with her extensive travels, she eventually landed in Austin. There she joined forces with a group of talented music geeks whose diverse influences — combined with KP’s soulful vocals, eclectic style, and magnetic personality — form an aesthetic that is sophisticated, edgy, and impassioned.
KP and her band KP and the Boom Boom, made major waves in 2013, releasing a four-track EP and debuting a music video for their single, “Feel It.” After being heralded as a Band to Watch at Utopiafest 2014 by Austin Fusion Magazine and The Horn, Austin City Limits Music Festival (ACL) selected KP and the Boom Boom for an Official ACL Late Night Show in 2015. Shortly thereafter, they were chosen to support Snoop Dogg at ACL-Moody Theater.
Emcee: TJ has found moments in history that seem to be unspoken for and has found a way to create plays that show them to the world. He believes strongly in the power of the media and its ability to shape #lives and #ideas. His lives by the motto: "If you change a heart you change the world."
Joining Theo are #Austin Based, Kate Priestley, San Antonio based acts Rap and HipHop artists Pokell and friends: DJ Kirby, Dj Rasta Mike (The Lone Star Turntablist), Darian Thomas and appearance from Dooley (Brandon McCormick).
